The poverty census this 2019 in the Philippines have lowered to 12%, thanks to the growing economy and build ,build, build projects by the government but there are still low to moderate income families struggled to keep food on their tables due to the escalating cost of basic items. Millions of elderly people receive some type of assistance from government every month may not enough to cover there needs.

There can be centers located at local charities, non-profits, and even government affiliated agencies. For example, many churches will have a food pantry or soup kitchen on site. Organizations like the Salvation Army or Catholic Charities may run a center at their local branches. Many poor community rely on government agencies and the generosity of the community at large to donate to them. They support them in the form of providing surplus government commodities. 

Recently in the town of Umingan, Pangasinan Mrs.Teresita De Jesus Lomboy the admin of facebook group page "Timpuyog" called for a contributions project "piso mula sa puso" a fundraising project to gift grocery items to the poorest senior citizens in the town of Umingan together with Mr Rex Ayson and Mr Laurio Suitos. These small actions was been very effective in the town of Umingan. I hope more people become aware about the situation face by the poor elders of the community and act the same way as these group.
